Snow Day!!! =D

Well I was suppose to be doing this in class today but because of the 16 or more inches of snow outside, there was no school today. But I like blogging form home better anyway. I can listen to my iPod full blast while i do it =P Anyway, so last class we had a type of meeting in a sense with the leaders from the World Wide Workshop Foundation. We talked with them over the phone and explained to them our paper prototype and told then about our games ideas. They gave us some really good suggestions back and some info about things we might want to research on. The info they gave us i think will definitely come in handy. Overall I think that our game idea is really starting to take shape, if we could only figure out what to do about the against side. Hopefully that will start to become a little more clear soon. Finally!

So guess what! Our paper prototype is now up on our wiki! whoo! It is pretty much completed, we just didnt have our control or help screen up yet but who needs those anyway right? Anywho, i think our game is going to be really awesome. I like the ideas we are coming up with and I think they are all going to come together very nicely. For today we are going to work on our teams wiki and start assigning roles for who to do what in the building process of the game. After we get this done I think we will be well on our way to creating a pretty awesome game =]

Paper Prototyping

So my team has started working on our paper prototyping of our game. We have drawn our title screen, our three loading screen, and two of our game play screen. Plus a small explosion scene! I think it looks really awesome so far! I'm really excited about my teams game. All of our ideas seem to be coming along very well. I can't wait till we get to start putting our actual game together! =]

Uh oh

So it seems like we are falling behind a little. I have to say I think I've done a decent job with blogging, I just need to get up to date with the wiki. Like the learning log for one. I always forget to do that thing!! Plus I'm sure theres some other stuff on there somewhere I've missed doing. I plan on going through today and fixing all that stuff. Maybe do some more personalizing of my wiki too cuz right now its a little dull. I plan to start blogging more as well. Another thing I really haven't done is check out other peoples blogs and wikis. Thats also the plan for today. Maybe I can find a cool blog or wiki out there and send them a comment or something, get in on the blogosphere, whoo! Till next time, later gator

Is there such a thing?

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as like an online code list? Somewhere you can go to find a code for just about anything? I liked to mess around some more with my bunny mini game just for fun but I dont know any codes and I know theres no way i could make one up myself. If anyone knows of such a website or list, please leave a comment with a link or some info. Thanks in advance!

Game Idea

Well my team has come up with the idea of doing a game about mountaintop removal, aka MTR. I really didnt know much about this subject until we decided to use it for our game but i have found out a lot of interesting info. Our game is going to teach players how much damage is caused by MTR and what kind of effect it has on nature and also people.

Teams!

We now officially have teams now! Whoo! My team is The Ultimate Avengers. Oh yeah, awesome team name! Anyway, were just getting started with our team stuff now, like deciding on a topic to build our game around. Right now I'm a little short on ideas in that department, but I'll try to come up with a few. Today we worked on a team logo. I have to say ours looks pretty awesome. Soon it will be up on the wiki, along with our other super hero "collage". I cant wait for us to start making our game soon! Well thats all for now, back to waiting till the next B day. Whoo!!

Yes! Finally! I have my bunny game up on wiki! Complete with score! And that I did all by myself! and the help of the wiki =P But today I am very happy with myself. This is something I've been working on for a little while now in addition with my own mini game. Still no luck with that, Warfield wasn't here today. Instead we got sub who didn't realize our work was making a game and not some worksheet or blah blah blah. Oh well, today was a success and that's all that matters! Hopefully next class I can get my other game up and running. Note I said hopefully =P Till then, later gator!

Grrr...

Sigh...flash is becoming very annoying...I did my drawing in flash and was all excited about getting it moving when...the code didnt work.. Thing is, I can't figure out why! I have everything put in right, everything named and where it should be, but it still wont work! I tried starting over again just to make sure I didnt miss a step and still nothing! Its really quite frustrating...I do not like flash... >=[

Awesomeness!

Whoo! I have mastered bunny movement! Well, kinda =P My bunny moves now, thanks to the help of my class mate Jessica and her code. Appearently the wiki code doesnt work. Thank you wiki for trying to confuse the snot out of me, mission accomplished! Well now my bunny moves and also the carrot restarts on the other side when it hits the bunny. I still have some work to do, like with the wolf, pizza, and mushrooms but I feel like today has been a success. Again, thanks Jessica for all your help. Until next time, later gator

Mini Game

Well I missed a couple days of class due to illness. No not swine flu, promise! Anyway, so needless to say, I'm a little behind. But last class I worked on starting my game using the wiki tutorial, and some help from teacher. I wanted to do as much by myself though as I could. You know, learn though trial and error. So far so....ok =P I have been able to get the carrot to move across my screen but having problems with my bunny. He just doesn't seem to want to move! I've used the code on the wiki, as well as the one my teacher gave me and still no luck. If anyone has any tips they would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully by the next time I blog I will be able to say that I have mastered the art of bunny movement =P Until then, later gator!

"The Cost of Life"

Ok this is my second blog and I'm going to talk about one of the games I found one our wiki's "playing to learn" section. As you might have guessed from the title, probably not, but anyway, the game I'm talking about is "The Cost of Life" The game is under the "Life Simulation" if you want to check it out. And if you do and you some how manage to win, or pass the game without most of your people dying, then please leave a comment on my blog telling me so! I got so annoyed with this game! I could not get through a couple years on the game without one or more of my people dying or all of them being sick! But because of this, it really made me think how hard life must be for these people. I encourage people to go check this game out, I found it pretty addicting, but maybe thats because I kept losing and wanted to prove I could do better, but whatever the reason, I was definitely playing the game a lot. So leave a comment on what you thought and tell me if you think its impossibly hard as I did.

Hi I'm Erica and this is my blog for Globaloria. Well I guess I'm suppose to talk about myself and this first one, as much as the school allows, so here I go. I'm...a teenager and this is my first year in Globaloria. My interest in video games was my reason for entering this class. I'm no computer genius so I'd love to learn a lot more from this class. My interest normally though are more on the artistic side. I'm in choir, art, and theatre class at my school. I also love sports and I love to draw.
