Getting close

Spring is finally here! That means warm weather and the beginning of softball season. That also means the end of year. And with the little time we have left to finish our game, i'm getting a little nervous. But i think we are making really good progress and getting close to having our game completed. Jessica found code for drag and drop so thats really awesome, as soon as we figure out how to make it work right =P But overall, the pieces are really start to fall into place and i definitely think we will make our deadline. thats it for now. Later!

Tutorial Project

So last class we were assigned to go to this website called flashfrige.com and find a tutorial we liked and create it. Well...this turned from a simple 15 min task into a hour and a half frustration! The website looked really cool at first. There were so cool things you could make and i decided to try one. But unfortunately it didnt work. Neither did the next one, or the next one, and well, you get the point. So after going through 5 that didnt work, i finally found a fairly simple one that i liked. It was an advertisement for the New Moon movie and today i finally finished it! It actually looks pretty cool. You can go check it out on my wiki, click here for link. Later peeps!

What I'm working on.

Right now I'm working on our mountain explosion screen. I'm trying to figure out how to make our dynamite appear on the mountain when you click on it. I'm also still trying to figure out why I can't get our title screens buttons to work right. No success yet =/ hopefully i can figure out on monday. We are also working on a few more screens in the game, really starting to make the game come together now. I don't know really have much else to say, I'm really super out of it today. Thats all for now.

Buttons that actually work!

So... i haven't blogged in a little while, whoops =P but I have made a lot of progress in the last few days! i have almost mastered buttons! Note the almost. So far i have created a detonate button that when pushed will go to our evil ceo pushing the detonate controller, drawn by Andrew and i must say it looks freaking awesome, and then the mountain exploding. Check it out on our wiki. This is an improvement over my previous screens when the mountain would just explode over and over again and the other one when you hit the detonate button the mountain just exploded. I am really excited about all the progress we have made in the last few days, though our title screen is upsetting me. I made the help button work to where it will go to the help screen but when i tried to do the same for the control screen, when i hit the control button it would go to the help screen, then the control screen and the same thing would happen when i hit the help screen. But other then that, everything is going awesome! I can't wait to start putting all of our scenes together!

Boom!

Boom! that was my project for today! I drew the boom screen to our game! Yes, i know, this is a very easy task but i still did it so i dont care! Jessica worked on our title screen and Andrew, who is REALLY good at drawing on the computer was working on one of our characters. I think that our game is going to look really awesome when its all put together. Now for a change of subject! I keep forgetting to do my learning log! gosh! I hate doing that thing, and i ALWAYS forget about it! oh well, just gotta in in practice i guess. Well, i really dont have much more to blog about so, I'm just cut it here before i talk about more random nonsense. Later

Flash vs Console

Well the topic for todays blog is to compare my favorite flash game to my favorite console game. Picking of the two which one would be my favorite (console game) is really a no brainer. But deciding what my favorite of each is a bit more difficult. For flash, I'm going to have to go with The Cost of Life game which was on the wiki. I really liked playing this game, even though I could never master it. And for console i would have to say my favorite game is Madden 08 for my ps2, though this is a very hard choice.

Well these games are very different in many ways. For one, they are totally different genres. The cost of life is a life simulation game, which really reminds me of the sims, except, a lot harder, and the other is a sports game. They also have very different animation. The Cost of Life is just a 2-D game with cartoon like characters where as Madden is 3-D and tries to make the players as real looking as possible. Something alike though is that in The Cost of Life you have to follow a certain story line as you have to do in the Superstar mode of Madden.
These two games are very different in many ways but have a little bit of simularity, and of course them both being fun games that I like is one of them. But Madden definitely beats out any flash game I will probably ever find. Sorry flash!

21 days of Christmas =P

Well I'm finally back to school after being out of school for 21 days because of Christmas break and never ending snow days =P And let me tell you, I'm have definitely not settled back in to my schedule yet. Getting up in the morning is not very easy after sleeping in till 11 for 21 days. And as for remembering school work from before break, yeah right! So today is like my, getting back into the flow of things day, aka, I'm probably not going to get much done. But even though I am extremely tired and ready to go home and just be lazy, I'm going to try to focus on looking up info on MTR removal and working on my teams game design. Wish me luck! Later
